Fun DIY Fall Home Decor Ideas

Hello everyone!! It’s Ellen here again with some super fun DIY fall home decor ideas.

Printable Cuttable Creatables has several pretty fall SVGs that can be used on their own, but they also make a pretty ensemble! In this post I’m using the “Nuts About Fall”, “I Love Fall Most of All” and the (free) Fall SVG File.

This mustard pillowcase was screaming for some fall decoration. To make this you need Heat Transfer Vinyl (I’m using 4 different earthy/brown colors).

Decorating your own pillowcases is really budget-friendly. Of course, it is super pretty next to a green or orange pillow.

A smaller detail in home decor can be uplifting some wooden coasters. These coasters were also very cheap (I bought them in a sort of dollar store).

Just as I did with one of my bookmarks (I shared it recently, check it out: https://www.printablecuttablecreatables.com/vinyl-bookmarks-tutorial/) I used Heat Transfer Vinyl to decorate them. They match my self-made mug perfectly (more information: https://www.printablecuttablecreatables.com/sublimation-easter-mugs-and-coasters/)

In the same dollar store, I also bought some frames with 2 glass sides. I really love these frames to add regular (adhesive) vinyl. I cut the “I Love Fall Most of All” files in 3 different colors (the word fall is in a pretty bronze color).

Quick tip; I placed the glass without vinyl on top of the glass with vinyl. As a result, the vinyl layer is protected by the other glass. No dust or other dirt can get stuck between the vinyl and everything stays neat during the cleaning of the frame when needed.

Now that I’ve decorated for fall, I’m ready to light some candles and take out a blanket for a movie night in my cozy house!

DIY Sticker Labels

Hello friends!  This is Linh or LV Handcrafted across the socials. You can make stickers without sticker paper or an electric cutting machine.  You just need some basic supplies!

I bought a pack of chapsticks but none of them have labels.  I thought they’d make great gifts, but I want the recipient to know what “flavor” the chapstick is so I decided to make my own label stickers!  I started by getting the Birthday SVG Scrap Kit. This is an awesome bundle that has patterns, graphics, sentiments, etc.

I created my label using photo editing software (you could also use word processing software) and printed it out on plain copy paper.  Then I cut my labels to the size I needed to cover the chapstick. Since I used an inkjet printer and thin paper, I brushed a thin coating of Mod Podge over the entire label.  This protects the ink from getting water-damaged and more durable. It also gives a nice shiny finish, making it look more like a vinyl sticker. Finally, I applied double-sided dry adhesive to the back of the label.  The last step is to peel off the paper liner and adhere it to my chapstick!

I made a little chapstick holder with some scrap paper I had leftover from a previous project, but the Birthday SVG Scrap Kit has a lot of fun pattern papers that would have been an even better match with my newly labeled chapsticks.

Thanks for checking out my project today!

Unicorn Tote Bag

Unicorn Tote Bag

Ciao amici! I’m dropping in from Morena’s Corner to share a magical project made with beautiful PCC designs! This tote bag is fit for a princess and very easy to make.

Unicorn Tote Bag

I love the look of sublimation ink but didn’t want to invest in a printer. Instead, I purchased transfer ink sheets from Amazon that I can cut and use! I used a sparkly galaxy print to make this *magical* project, and I paired it with shiny metallic HTV to enhance the empowering message to “shine”.

First, cut the large background image from the desired ink transfer paper, and iron it onto the tote following the package instructions. Then cut the text and accents from the shiny HTV vinyl and iron them on top of the inked image.

The ink transfer sheets create a dreamy, colorful backdrop. The shiny metallic HTV gives it extra shine and a “wow” factor! This beautiful tote will be perfect as a substitute for a party gift bag, and the recipient can enjoy it long after the party is over. Have fun spreading magic and joy with this handmade magical tote bag gift!

Holiday Bookmarks Stocking Stuffer

Hello friends!  This is Linh or LV Handcrafted across the socials. Do you know any book lovers? I have so many friends who are educators and love reading and what better a gift than a bookmark!  Even with the popularity of eReaders, so many of us still like good ol’ fashion books! These bookmarks are fun little “just because” gifts or like my set of bookmarks today will be stocking stuffer gifts!
The pattern papers from the Christmas Treats Craft Bundle are FABULOUS!  You have everything you need to craft with for the holidays in general, but the papers are really wonderful for my holiday bookmarks. There are fun icons and holiday images to decorate, but I’ve also added an alphabet die cut to monogram one of the bookmarks too!

See how it’s done in this video tutorial:

Here are 7 quick & easy steps:

STEP 1
Print out the pattern papers you’d like to use
STEP 2
Cut heavyweight 120lb cardstock to 2”W x 6.5”H to use as a bookmark base.

STEP 3
Cut your pattern paper to 2”W strips.

Vinyl Bookmarks Tutorial

Vinyl DIY Bookmark Tutorial
Vinyl DIY Bookmark Tutorial

Today I have a super fun blog post ready for you. I made two super adorable bookmarks with vinyl.

To make these I used the “Groovy Retro Flowers” and the “Happy Pencil” SVG Files.

Let me show you how I made the first bookmark.

02 Vinyl DIY Bookmark Tutorial

I started out by creating a bookmark template. Measure a real life bookmark and try to mimic it as much as you can – a basic rectangle about 5”L x 2”W (12cm x 5cm) will work if you want to cut your own base from cardstock or chipboard.

Next, make a pattern with the elements you want to use (here 2 flowers from the “Groovy Retro Flowers” SVG Files).

Vinyl DIY Bookmark Tutorial

With the ‘slice’ tool from Cricut Design Space, you can cut a shape from another shape. Using the slice tool will split two overlapping images in different parts. Each new shape will appear as an individual layer. Now you can delete the unwanted images. I used “slice” to trim the edges of the daisies that extended past the edges of the bookmark template.

For my first bookmark, I used a clear acrylic bookmark. For that reason I cut out all images out of vinyl. I used the layout that I created in Cricut Design Space as a reference to place all the flowers while finishing the bookmark.

I finished it off with a tassel and wooden bead. This is really so cute!!

Of course I also wanted to show a second example…

Vinyl DIY Bookmark Tutorial

For this bookmark, I used the ‘combine’ tool from Cricut Design Space. This allows you to create new shapes. I used the ‘Unite’ button to merge the two yellow parts of the pencil shapes to make one larger pencil (little note; the layers may change position). Next I united the eyes with the yellow layers so that it became one image. As the last step I added my name.

Because I had a wooden bookmark for my second example, I used heat transfer vinyl. Heat Transfer Vinyl sticks much better to wood and provides a professional look,

These happy colors really make my heart jump up and down. It’s great as a teacher gift or simply for your own use.

Earrings tutorial for teachers

Start out in your design studio by creating rectangles for the pages. Mine were 1 inch tall and 1.5 inches wide. Add a scoreline in the middle to make them easier to fold. Make the covers slightly bigger than the pages, and add two score lines and a circle for the earring finding (see image below). Once this is done you can import your graphics to add to the design.

Mini Book Earrings Tutorial

Print and cut the pages and cover from cardstock. Cut just the cover piece from the chipboard.

Mini Book Earrings Tutorial

Use the Laminate + Adhesive cartridge in a Creative Station to protect the book cover while adding adhesive to the back.

Mini Book Earrings Tutorial

Trim the laminated cover and add it to the chipboard cover. Fold on the scored lines.

Bitty Book Earrings Tutorial

Poke through the hole to make it easier to add the jump ring and earring pieces.

Mini Book Earrings Tutorial

Fold the book pages on the scored line. You will need four sheets to make 8 total pages in the book. Glue the page edges together and then glue them inside the book. Let the pages dry.

When you get bored you can doodle in the tiny pages of your earrings! Have fun crafting and creating unique jewelry with cute graphic designs from PCC!!

Coffee Gift Card Holder

Coffee Gift Card Holder

Hello friends!  This is Linh or LV Handcrafted across the socials.  I love to give gift cards but I like to dress them up a little. I feel like that turns what might be an impersonal gift into a very special one.  Today I’m using papers from the Autumn Harvest Scrap Kit and the amazing Coffee Cup Giftcard Holder SVG File to create a couple of fall-themed gift card holders.

These are fast, easy projects. I printed the pattern papers onto copy paper. Even though it’s thinner than cardstock, it still worked well for the pocket/sleeve. However, for the insert, I cut a 2nd insert from white cardstock. That gives the insert a little bit more weight to support the gift card.
Next time you need to give a gift card, why not dress it up with this fun Coffee Gift Card Holder?
