DIY Retro Slimline Card

04 DIY Retro Slimline Card

Hello, everyone! It’s Nancy here with a new project share.

One of the great benefits of using cut files is how you can totally customize them to suit your own needs. As I was snooping through the shop, I came across this wonderful train file. Christmas trains are very nostalgic for me. They bring up very special memories of past Christmases,
with my parents and three brothers. I immediately thought it would make a great slimline card. For my project today, I have used the Vintage Christmas SVG Bundle. You can also find the train on it’s own in the Christmas Train SVG File.

Here’s my card:

Isn’t that a great Christmas card? It was so much fun to put together.

Sometimes when I see these cut files, I feel a little bit daunted because of all the pieces. Print then Cut is always an option. However, once you break things down, it’s not really daunting at all. Since this was a nostalgic project for me, I really wanted to use traditional Christmas colours.

This is where the customization began.  I used Cricut Design Space for all my work.

Here is how I customized it to my traditional colors:

Here are all the pieces after they were cut out:

Yes, there are lots of pieces but with the included instructions, and a bottle of glue, it’s easy peasy to put it all together!  Once it was all adhered in place, it was easy to add to my glittery slimline card base. Then I had an opportunity for further customization, with some fun embellishing!

This is a very special card to me now! When you look at cut files, don’t just look at what is there. Look at how you can customize them to be what you need!

DIY Fall Card with Digital Paper

03DIY Fall Card with Digital Paper

Hello, friends! It’s Nancy back with another fun Fall Card!
This time I’ve combined four fabulous files from the shop.
Here’s my project:

Here’s my project:

03DIY Fall Card with Digital Paper

I decided to size my kraft card base at 5 x 7 inches, since I had so much I wanted to fit onto it.

I then cut the Autumn Harvest Digital Paper at 4 7/8 x 6 7/8.

I inked the edges, and adhered it to my card base.

Then I started with my cuts:

Here is a close-up look at the I Love Fall Most of All SVG File adhered in place on the card.

Here’s the To Go Coffee Cup SVG File.

This file includes a little heart. For the season, I wanted a little pumpkin instead.

There were several pumpkin options in the shop.

I chose the Fall is My Favorite Free SVG File.

I just had to do a little surgery on the cut, and I had my perfect little pumpkin.

Thanksgiving Place-Setting Idea

Thanksgiving Place setting Idea IG

Hello, everyone! It’s Nancy here…back to share another fun project!
Thanksgiving is next weekend here in Canada and next month in the US.
I’ve come up with a fun place-setting idea that I wanted to share.

I wanted to take a photo of this on my Thanksgiving dinner plate.
However, I can’t find half of my Thanksgiving dishes.
I have cups & saucers, cream & sugar, and a serving bowl.
No plates to be found…yet!

Here’s my project:

Isn’t that lovely?…and perfect for a Thanksgiving place setting!

I sized it at 6 1/2″ wide, so that it would fit nicely on a plate.

Here’s what I cut out:

You might notice that I cut an extra base piece in green.

Here’s what I did with that:

I added the green piece to the back of the neutral base.

I added a stamped journal spot, along with the “Thankful” title.
If you don’t have an appropriate stamp,
you could easily do the same thing with a ruler and pen.

All of the guests at my Thanksgiving dinner will have a Thankful Heart on their plate.

They can then document whatever they are thankful for,

and take it home for a reminder.

My dishes really suit the style of this project.

If you’re setting a fancier table, you could make some simple adjustments to make it work.

Just use some foiled or glittered papers, and add some sparkle and shine!

Hey there, it’s Dorlene and I’m back to share a cute and simple scrapbook layout using the Let’s Get Stuffed T129 cut file.

I love using cute cut files for embellishments and/or titles for my scrapbook layouts and this one was perfect for our Thanksgiving photos.

After cutting each piece out, I inked the top of the cooked turkey to add some dimension.

Before adhering to each of the layers, I always lay it out first to make sure I have everything in the right place and order. Once I added patterned paper and photos to the scrapbook layout, I added the assembled image to the bottom left side of the layout as shown below.

I added some journaling and a few extra embellishments to complete the layout.

The layout above is the left side of a two-page spread and here’s a photo of both sides together.  I used the text function in Cricut Design Space to create the title on the right side but I emulated the Let’s Get Stuffed image as far as offsets and colors so everything coordinated and I love how the blue cardstock pieces really make everything pop!

This is a very simple layout but by using the right embellishments, it is so pretty!

There are so many fun cut files in the Printable Cuttable Creatables store. You are likely to find everything you need to create your own embellishments and/or titles for your scrapbooking layouts!
