Size the ghost and the text so it will fit your pallet. I used the “assembled” ghost svg and set all the lines to cut. I used two 12 by 12 inch sheets of basswood and cut the ghost from one sheet and the text from the other. Cut them using the settings on your machine.

Cowboy Ghost Sign Idea

I usually paint my wood before I cut it, but since I cut everything at once so that the pieces could “nest” inside each other I painted after cutting. I like to separate the pieces by the color I want to use on them and then paint them one color at a time. Let the paint dry completely and apply a second application if necessary.

Cowboy Ghost Sign Idea

Glue the pieces together, using small dots of glue. Then assemble the ghost and the text on the background pallet. Use wood glue to adhere them, and place something heavy (I use books) on top while it dries.

Vintage Beach Wood Sign Idea

I’m swimming over from Morena’s Corner to share this fun vintage inspired project with you. I just got back from the beach and have the ocean on my mind, as the sign shows!

Vintage Beach Wood Sign Idea

I used the Take Me to the Ocean SVG File to create this vintage style beach sign. After I cut it out using my xTool laser cutter, I put transfer tape on the back of the cut wood sheet and put all the pieces in place, so the tape would hold it all together.

Vintage Beach Wood Sign Idea

Next I used FolkArt Watercolor Gelz Acrylic Paints in various colors to give the wood a vintage look. Add a little water to the paint and brush it onto the wood. The color is vibrant but the wood grain shows through, giving it a vintage style appearance.

Vintage Beach Wood Sign Idea

Once the paint has dried, press another piece of transfer tape onto the front of the design. You will use this to remove the design from the wood and transfer it, just like you do with vinyl. In this case, put glue on the back of the wood before transferring the design to the round wood plaque.

This cut sign is perfect to hang poolside or in your beach themed home like I did! Have fun crafting and creating with Printable Cuttable Creatables files this summer!

Tips for Using Infusible Ink on Wood

Infusible Ink on wood IG

Infusible Ink on wood 3

Have you ever tried using Cricut Infusible Ink on wood? Well, it’s Ellen here and I will show you how you can do that.

Today, I’m using the ‘Take Me to the Ocean’ SVG File and Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets.

Infusible Ink on wood 1

After you’re happy with the size of your design and the color –  load the sheet on a mat (color side up). It’s important to click the Mirror slider on each mat (especially when using text). DO NOT skip this step, or your text will read backward. When you’re ready, load the mat into the machine and cut out the illustration.

Be careful not to touch the Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets too much while weeding with your hand this can remove the ink from the sheets.

Infusible Ink on wood 2

Preheat your heat source, I’m using an EasyPress (see the manual of your heat press for the recommended heat and time). Use butcher paper to protect your heat source from the infusible ink. The heat can also cause the ink to end up on your heat source! So use butcher paper! NOTE: Do not move your heat source after you’ve placed it on top of the wood.

Once completed remove the butcher paper. Let coasters cool for 1-2 minutes before peeling the backing, and now you’re all set!

Sweet Baby Banner Gift Idea

01 Sweet Baby Banner Gift and care card

Hello and welcome to the PCC blog again. Today it’s me, Ellen, sharing this sweet baby banner gift I made using the: “Pretty Birdhouse SVG”,  “Mama & Baby Bird in Nest SVG”, “Sweet Baby Safety Pins SVG” and the hearts from “Cloud Raining Hearts SVG” from the PCC Shop.

Sweet Baby Banner Gift

First of all I made my garland with HTV and my cutting machine. I combined the flowers of the birdhouses with the text and added a little heart here and there.

Sweet Baby Banner Gift

Because there was also a bird on the baby card of Mia, these could of course not be missed on my flags. The eyes are the core of the flowers (cut out in a black color). My drawing was too fine to cut out the eyes as originally intended.

Sweet Baby Banner Gift

Do you know Canva? It is a website with which you can create professional posters, documents, Instagram posts and much more. PCC also provides png photos in the SVG sets. Ideal for making beautiful cards to add to your projects for sure with the help of this website.

Sweet Baby Banner Gift

I also made a note with washing instructions and ideas for what you can use the banner for. You can’t read it because it is of course in Dutch (my native language). But this project shows that you can also use the pretty PCC illustrations for much more than you think at first glance!

Sweet Baby Banner Gift

Hopefully you find this blog post super inspiring. I am really happy with the result of this sweet baby banner gift ideas!

I wish you many creative moments today and see you soon!

Hello everyone, Ellen here taking over the PCC blog. In this post I made this sweet Easter Pillow using the ‘Bite Me Bunny’ SVG File and the ‘Chocolate Bunny’ SVG Cut File & Clipart.

I like to share two creative tips.

  1. If you’re using an image that is a silhouette, it’s fun to use pattern HTV Iron-On
  2. Sometimes you can easily combine elements from different illustrations, like I did here with the bow and the bunny

I hope you like my project and you try out one of the tips.

See you soon!

Glass Etching Tutorial

02 Glass Etching Tutorial

Glass Etching Tutorial

Hello friends!  This is Linh or LV Handcrafted across the socials.  I’m excited to share with you this Glass Etching Tutorial project – a “His & Hers” Retro glass juice bottle.  I used a technique called glass etching to transfer these designs to the bottle. It’s a wonderful way to create a permanent design on your glassware. You can wash and even put it through the dishwasher without worrying about the design fading or peeling off.

See how it’s done in this video tutorial:

Here are 8 quick & easy steps:

STEP 1
Bring the SVG Separated file into Cricut Design Space.
Scale the image to the size you’d like on your glass
Glass Etching Tutorial3
STEP 2
Create a box that’s 1 inch wider and 1 inch taller than your design.
Place the design over your box and center it.
Attach the design and the box you just created so they cut together.
Glass Etching Tutorial6
STEP 3
Make It!
Glass Etching Tutorial4
STEP 4
Weed out the positive design. The vinyl that is left should be all of the area surrounding your design.
Glass Etching Tutorial7
STEP 5
Apply transfer vinyl to the design.  Burnish well.
Peel off the paper release liner from your vinyl.
Glass Etching Tutorial2
STEP 6
Position your design onto your glass project.  Start from the center and burnish outwards. Peel off the transfer vinyl.
Glass Etching Tutorial5
STEP 7
With a paintbrush, apply the Glass Etching Cream to the design.  Be careful not to get etching cream outside of the stencil.  Keep brushing and moving the cream around the design for 3 minutes.
Glass Etching Tutorial9
STEP 8
Rinse the project with cold water thoroughly.  Dry. Peel off the sticker vinyl
Glass Etching Tutorial10

TIPS:

  • Use gloves and protect your work surface when using Etching Cream.
  • Make sure you have enough space surrounding your design when you make your stencil. This way your glass is protected and you don’t get etching cream where you don’t want it.
  • Before applying your vinyl stencil, clean your glass surface with alcohol to remove any dust, oils, debris, etc.
  • After you rinse off the etching cream, examine your project.  Tilt it in different lighting and see if the frosted glass looks even. If it doesn’t look even, you can do the etching process again (Step #7) before you peel off the vinyl.  Once it looks good, then peel off the vinyl.

Thanks for following along!

Happy Campurrr Sublimation Sign

Happy Campurrr Sublimation Sign
Happy Campurrr Sublimation Sign

Hi there, it’s Ellen here for today’s blog post. In this post, I will show you a fun idea for a cat teepee tent. I created this Happy Campurrr Sublimation Sign using some pretty illustrations from the “I’d Rather Be Camping” SVG Bundle” and “Peekaboo Cat Face” SVG set.

Happy Campurrr Sublimation Sign

Recently we bought a tent in which the cats can rest in. My husband asked me to make a nameplate for our two cats (Oliver and Bailey).

Of course, I wanted to use kitten faces, so I chose two cats from the “Peekaboo Cat Face” SVG set that look like our kitties. Then I used a few accessories from the I’d Rather Be Camping SVG Bundle as a base for the cat faces to peek out from.

In the middle, I placed the mountains (you can also buy them separately “Mountains” SVG file). Finally, I chose a photo of a starry sky for the background and I wrote a funny text that says “Happy Campurrrs”.

Here’s the finished Happy Campurrr Sublimation Sign hanging over our cat tent!

Summer Tumbler Vinyl Decal

Summer Tumbler Vunyk Decal

Hello, hello crafty friends! It’s Shalon here with Summer Tumbler Vinyl Decal for you! I don’t know about you, but I feel in summer I am always sipping on something! More often than not it’s water (a girl has GOT to stay hydrated!) but I have been known to enjoy an adult libation or two!
Either way, I like to be able to walk around with my beverages, and therefore a tumbler is a must! I enjoy the look and feel of a skinny tumbler, and you KNOW I have to customize it! These Maars brand tumblers are double-walled and are great for vinyl. When I saw the Drink in My Hand Toes in the Sand SVG File, I knew it would be ideal for my Summer Tumbler Vinyl Decal!

Summer Tumbler Vunyk Decal

What You’ll Need:

Drink in My Hand Toes in the Sand SVG File

Tumbler or other drinkware (I used these.)

Adhesive vinyl (I used StyleTech in Blue Opal.)

Transfer paper/tape

Weeding tools or craft knife

Rubbing alcohol

Book (optional)

Heat gun or hair dryer (optional)

First, I measured my tumbler. It is just over 7 inches tall so I knew I wanted my design to be less than 4.5 inches – 5 inches high max. The total circumference of my tumbler is about 8.75 inches with the front facing being about 4 inches. So I wanted my design to be slightly smaller. Clicking the lock in Silhouette Studio to maintain the aspect ratio I resized the height to be 4.75 inches tall which made my width about 3.6 inches.

Drink Tumbler Vinyl Decal

Then, I ungrouped everything. The blue writing looked like it would be a little thin to withstand constant washes so I offset them another 0.010in to provide just a little thickness and therefore a little more adhesive.

Drink Tumbler Vinyl Decal

After that, I regrouped everything and decided it would look awesome using holographic vinyl, sent it to cut, and weeded.

I placed the transfer tape on my weeded decal and burnished it well. Make sure your design completely transfers onto the tape first to make sure you are able to place it on your project more easily.

To prepare my tumbler for vinyl, I cleaned the surface with alcohol and then placed it in the middle of an open book! This is my little trick I use to apply vinyl on curved objects! It does a great job holding the object steady during application!

When centering the decal, I like to fold it in half backward, so that the sticky part is out and I can stick it down from the center.

Drink Tumbler Vinyl Decal

After that, I slowly burnish with my finger from the center outwards until the entire decal is placed. Once everything is down, I go over it with my scraper applying pressure. Finally, I go over the decal with my heat gun (or a hair dryer would work too) keeping it moving the entire time to gently warm the adhesive to help it stick.

Summer Tumbler Vinyl Decal

That’s it! Now you have a great summer tumbler to go with your drink of choice!

Sublimation Mouse Pad Tutorial

Sublimation Mouse Pad Tutorial
Sublimation Mouse Pad Tutorial

Hi creative peeps, Happy Thursday! Today it’s Ellen, writing this blog post.

We spend quite a lot of time at work. In my opinion, we can show our personality there too and it’s fun to make it a little bit of our second home. That’s why I made a mousepad with the lovely Cute Moon SVG File.

Sublimation Mousepad Tutorial

I will explain in this photo tutorial how I made it:

  1. First I applied the png images from the “Cute Moon” SVG file to a Word document. I like to show you this in Word, simply because almost everyone uses this program on his/her computer. I cut the stars, so I could use them individually (using the crop tool from Word). I placed the moon and stars on a square that is as big as my mousepad (you can see the dimensions on the ruler from Word).  I did a search on the internet for pastel cloud pictures to use as background. As the last step, I wrote out text that was fitting for this cute image (“working on my dreams”).
  2. Of course, don’t forget to mirror your image and print it out with a sublimation printer. With some heat-resistant tape, I attached the sublimation paper to the mousepad. Next, I covered it all with some baking paper (please do not forget to protect your surface! If the sublimation ink makes a mark, it can possibly transfer to other objects!).
  3. Press settings: 180° Celsius or 356° Fahrenheit for 60 to 120 seconds.  A lot of the time you can find the correct adjustments on the website where you bought your sublimation blanks.
Sublimation Mouse Pad Tutorial

This mouse pad is making my desk a little more attractive, and it’s so much more fun to work on now! I’m curious how you all dress up your working space. Please let me know in the comments below!
