DIY S’mores Essentials Box

Hello there! I don’t know about you but one of my favorite things in the summer is having s’mores by the campfire. It can be while camping or with friends at the backyard firepit. I don’t plan on growing out of that anytime soon! I came up with this box design to store the essentials, and this DIY S’mores Essentials Box makes it so easy to keep everything together.

Supplies:

• Cozy Campfire SVG
• Cute S’more SVG File or
• I’m a Hot Mess S’mores SVG File
• Rectangle box (mine is approx 12 x 5.5 inches, 4 inches deep.)
• Heat transfer vinyl in various colors
• Heat Source/Iron
• Teflon Sheet or parchment paper
• Electronic Cutting Machine and software (I am using Silhouette Studio with a Cameo)

Measure the four outer sides of the box. Draw 2 rectangles in the cutting machine software to guide you in sizing.

Download and unzip the SVG files.

Type “Need S’more Time??” and use the font of your choice. I used one called Royal Acid. Size it to fit across the widest rectangle.

Add one of the s’mores from the Cozy Campfire file. Make it larger and duplicate. Place underneath the text in the rectangle. Move the design aside so we can create the other side of the box in the same rectangle.

Add the campfire and the marshmallows on a stick. Duplicate the marshmallows on a stick and put one on each side of the campfire.

For the two small sides of the box, add a s’more with a cute smiley face. Size it to be large and duplicate it for the other side of the box. This is where the DIY S’mores Essentials Box really starts to come to life!

Separate the layers of the designs by ungrouping. Group the pieces together that will get cut with the same vinyl.

Mirror the design. Cut all pieces in heat transfer vinyl. For fun, I use some glitter HTV. I chose HTV for the project because sometimes it adheres better than adhesive vinyl.

Warm heat source. Press each piece to the box individually as designed on the screen. HTV does act differently on hard surfaces than fabrics. Try not to move around the iron or press as the vinyl could slide.
