Hello there! We are quickly approaching graduation season! I really love to make fun cards for the graduates. I often make cards that might go along with their sports or activities that they participated in while in school. I don’t always know what that is so I will use their school colors. This DIY Graduation Gift Card Holder is perfect for that—and it even holds a gift card inside!

Supplies:

Electronic Cutting Machine and software (I am using Silhouette Studio with a Cameo)

Make the gift card greeting card by following the instructions that come in a pdf with the design files. I didn’t change anything but the colors. I used blue for the cap because that is the color of the school the graduation is graduating from.

Bring in the assembled SVG for the “You Did It” file. We are using the top version with the background/shadow shapes. Resize it to fit on top of the books that are part of the greeting card for this DIY Graduation Gift Card Holder.

Separate the 3 layers of the design by ungrouping. Drag the gold and black layers away – don’t delete them.

On the white layer that has the cap and text on it – if you want the cap to stay black skip this step. If you want the cap to be in the school colors – click on the cap and change the fill to the color of your choice. This also change the shadow of the text and some stars. Select all the parts of this layer and group them together.

Using the print and cut feature, print just this layer on cardstock and have your machine cut it out.

Cut the other two layers in the school colors, or colors of your choice. I used the same color as the cap on the greeting card and a white glitter layer.

Adhere the 3 layers together.

Using foam adhesive for dimension adhere it to the card top of the books.

Adhere embellishments or holographic stars for more sparkle. That little extra shine makes this DIY Graduation Gift Card Holder feel even more celebratory.
