Twisted Easel Fun Fold Card Tutorial

Twisted Easel Fun Fold Card

Hello!  Christi here from Scrapping For Tranquility on the blog for Printable Cuttable Creatables today to show you another Fun Fold Card.  These seem to be all the rage right now.  At the beginning of the month, I showed you three fun Folds and promised I would be back today to give you a tutorial on a fourth.  We are going to do a fairly easy one so you can hop right to starting your Fun fold cards! This one is called a Twisted Easel Fun Fold Card.

Twisted Easel Fun Fold Card

With just a few steps, we’re going to master this fun fold card in today’s tutorial!

Here is what you will need:

Twisted Easel Fun Fold Card Idea

1.  A solid base color (my white) cut to 8 1/2 X 4 1/4 and scored it at 4 1/4 on the 8 1/2 side.

Fun Fold Twisted Easel Card Tutorial

It will look like this when you are done scoring and folding.

2.  You will also need a piece of 4″  squared pattern paper and another 4″ squared pattern paper cut from one corner to the next diagonal.

Twisted Easel Fun Fold Card Tutorial

3.  Score from the top left-hand corner to the bottom right-hand corner on the left side of the card base. Like shown above.

4.  Using the pattern paper’s piece of 4″ squared , glue it to the inside of the card.

5.  Take a diagonal piece of pattern paper on the front-facing part of the fold.

Here is where I assemble the paper piecings I want to use to decorate the card.  I cut out on my Cameo 3 two different files.

The files I used from Printable Cuttable Creatables are:

  1. Happy St. Patrick’s Day Title
  2. St. Patrick’s Day Shamrocks
St. Patrick's Day Paper Piecing Card Tutorial

Once I have my pieces cut out, I ink the edges.  That is a preference of mine.  You can do whatever you want.  Some people ink and others do not.

St. Patrick's Day Card Tutorial

I use only Catherine Pooler Mini Inks and Full size ink pads.

St. Patrick's Day Card

Once I had my card and pieces made and inked, I was ready to assemble my card as I see fit.  This is the front of the card laying flat to mail.

Twisted Easel Fun Fold Card

This is my finished product with the twisted easel standing up being held by the title.  I used pop dots to make the title stand a bit to help hold it in the standing position.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and it gives you the inspiration to try all the fun folds out there.  If you do, let us or me know!  Post it and let us see!

Happy Crafting!

Penguin Dome Candy Holder Gift

Penguin Dome Candy Holder Gift

Hi Crafty Friends!

Kris here, and if you live in a cold climate as I do…I have the perfect project to bring a smile to someone’s face!

Two things….I have an amazing coworker who has been such a great help to me this past month and I absolutely love the Penguin Dome Candy Holder SVG file.  How to combine the two?  It’s simple and I’ll tell you how!

Penguin Dome Candy Holder Gift

The first thing to remember….the Penguin Dome Candy Holder SVG is not just for the Christmas season…..you can use it any time in the winter too!  In fact, my local Michaels Canada still has these dome ornaments in the clearance section!

Let’s make it!

First, make a Penguin Dome Candy Holder for your fabulous coworker, using various colors of cardstock, and a 3.15-inch Dome ornament, and glue it together using tacky glue (or hot glue).

Next, you fill it with their favorite treats. My coworker Stephanie loves M&Ms.

Finally, you leave it on their desk when they are not looking and it’s sure to leave a smile on their face! 🙂

Want to add a personal touch to it? Of course, you do!  I used the file: Holiday Gift Tags SVG Cut File Set (one of my favorite cut files ever!) and I added a little note using the foil tool for my Cricut Maker.  I just love how that gold foil turned out on the black cardstock!

DIY Penguin Candy Holder Gift Idea

Go grab some dome ornaments on clearance and craft some smiles on your friends’ faces!

Just a little note to add, Stephanie LOVED her little penguin and M&Ms surprise!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Crafting!

Owl Valentine Card Cricut Tutorial

Owl Valentine Card Cricut Tutorial

Hello, friends! It’s Nancy back with you! I have a sweet Valentine’s card for you today!

I used a fun combination of files to make it:
Valentine Hearts Owl SVG;
Valentine Arrows Borders Set SVG;
Owl Always Love You Sentiment SVG;
Candy Colored Winter Patterns Digital Paper Pack.
Today I just want to share a few tips with you, when using Cricut Design Space.
Many of you will probably already know this but it’s fairly new to me.
First, here is the card that I made:

Owl Valentine Card Cricut Tutorial

The owl image is super cute, right?
Now I’m going to share my process with you.

When I’m using an image like this, that I know I want to print then cut,

I head to Cricut Design Space.

I begin by choosing the base size I want to use, and then sizing all my layers accordingly.

Here’s a look:

Owl Valentine Card Design Space Tutorial

I knew that I wanted to make a 5 1/2″ square card base.

So I begin by clicking on shapes, choosing a square, and sizing it to 5 1/2″. This allows me to then resize the owl image.

Then I decided that the owl would look nice in a circle. So using the “Shapes” option again, I add a circle. As shown in the photo above I sized the circle to 4″.

I didn’t want the owl to just be “floating” in the circle, so I added the sweet arrow border cut, resized it to fit my circle, and positioned it under the owl.

I also make sure that all my elements are set as Print then Cut.

This intricate arrow was the reason that I was going to use print and then cut.

My Cricut does a fabulous job with intricate cuts but this might be pushing it! ;o)

Owl Valentine Card Print Then Cut Tutorial

I really like the way everything is looking here and can see how my finished card will look.

I don’t need the green square, as I have other plans for my background.

At this point, I highlight the circle section, as shown in the photo.

If you look at the list on the right side you can see the ones that are highlighted.

Then I go to my “Flatten” option, which you can see in the lower right corner,

and I click on it.

Owl Valentine Card Cricut Design Space Tutorial

If you want to include the background square in your project,

then you would highlight the entire square and click Flatten.

As shown above, the complete project has been flattened,

and is ready for print then cut.

Now we can go back to my finished card.

I knew that I wanted to use this pretty heart paper for my background.

I cut my 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper to a 5 1/2″ card base.

I printed the heart paper and cut a 5 1/4″ square.

I then matted my finished circle with a matching piece of cardstock.

I adhered it to my card front with foam tape.

Owl Valentine Card Tutorial

I also finished the inside of the card using the sentiment cut.

Owl Valentine Card Idea

It makes a really great Valentine’s card, right?

Flattening the layers helps to cut down on some of the bulk,

making it easier to mail to your Valentine.

Owl Valentines Card Inspiration

Those are my tips for you today!

It’s always fun to learn new things and new ways to do our projects! :o)

Sweet N Cozy Single Line Valentine Card

Single Line Valentine Card Idea

Hello, friends! It’s Nancy back with a fun new project share.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.
For those of us here in Saskatchewan, February 14th still holds lots of snow and chilly weather.
When I found this file in the shop, I thought it would make a great Valentine.

I used:

Single Line Marshmallows and Hot Cocoa SVG File

My first attempt with a single-line file didn’t work very well.
I opened a new package of markers for my Cricut and found they were all totally dry.
At PCC the files include SVG and PNG files.
I uploaded this one into Cricut Design Space and had a play.

This is what I came up with:

Single Line Valentine Card Idea

Doesn’t that make a fun Valentine’s card?

This hot cocoa design is also available in the shop as a regular cutting file,

but I wanted to play with the single-line file.

Single Line Valentine Card Idea

I ungrouped everything in Design Space and then played with colors and layers.

I like the combination of pink and black for a Valentine.

I then flattened it and saved it as a print/cut option.

Single Line Valentine Card

I couldn’t really have pink cocoa,

so I colored the cocoa in after it was printed.

I added the printed piece to my black cardstock base using foam tape.

Finally, I added several pink pearls and some Nuvo Drops.

Single Line Valentine Card

Sometimes it’s just fun to have a play in Design Space!

These files have so many options included

and offer such a variety of creative possibilities.

In this context…playing is learning!

That’s always a good thing! :o)

Love Blooms Here Desk Decor

Love Blooms Here Desk Decor

Love Blooms Here Desk Decor

Kris here, and to start my first Design Team project for 2023, I will bring you a sort-of upcycled project.

What do I mean by “sort-of” upcycled?  I’ll tell you!  To start 2023, my husband and I decided to clean and get rid of some unused items in and around our house.  My husband came across a box full of old picture frames with some old photos.  So he started taking the photos out and decided on which frames would stay and which would go.  He came across the 2012 Christmas picture frame and took the photo out.  I was slightly upset because it was dated 2012 and there was a picture of our dogs with Santa.  It wasn’t like I was going to put a fresh 2022 Christmas picture in a frame with the date 2012.

Love Blooms Here Desk Decor Idea

My husband suggested to me that I take the 2012 photo mat out of the frame and use my Cricut to make something else. I thought….what a brilliant idea! I have a Printable Cuttable Creatables project that would work!

For this project, you will need:

I first measured out the size of the photo frame and used the Cricut Foil Tool to add the words “love blooms here”.  Next, the machine cut out the rectangle.  I then cut out the Valentine Hearts Wagon SVG and assembled it.  Then I cut out 2 colors of the Rolled Paper Flower SVG Templates. The red flowers are slightly smaller than the light pink flowers.

Love Blooms Here Desk Decor Project

I added a couple of rhinestones to the center of the wagon wheels and added a couple of butterfly stickers and there you have such cute Valentine’s Day desk decor!

Thank you so much for joining me today!

Joyful Snowman Winter Album

Joyful Snowman Winter Album

Happy New Year, friends! It’s Nancy here with my first post for 2023!

First of all, I’m very excited to be continuing on the PCC DT for another term!
There are so many fabulous files in the shop to play with.
I look forward to sharing more of them with all of you!

Today I am sharing the title page of a Joyful Snowman Winter Album I am starting.
We have several months of Winter here in Saskatchewan,
so there will be lots of creative ways to fill this album.
I am using an 81/2″ x 11″ binder album.

I’ve used this combination of fun files:

Snowflake Circle Frame SVG File;

Happy Snowman Looking Up SVG File

Marshmallow World SVG Die Cut File Scrapbook Title.

Here’s my title page:

wrQ0GRF6KWtCT33YIVPc2FDgzUJMgcAmhPdb71AI9c8l8aGezdPF5tBQQzDJvHkqpr1fgFW6E6ueSbrbpI9M

Isn’t that a fun Wintery scene?

The snowman looks so happy!

I often look just like that when the snow is falling all around me! lol

OHMYsOMZ6 HUqAKn6l9wHRYfAmKIEuH7dguMZqo Rbop2jNOcfiwQB3oqxz q80CkUd3GwkEmFZL8V8SbGQZBLy2Cfix5Aus ueGm7TVakv t6bJAyeTHvtBWkzWoNkSVq GOVwVveQy3SHjLoIFOZ1UHQX8lHLmmDyS2miCLwY u4a HdtU62U XE3USA

I began by arranging the scene in Cricut Design Space.

I knew I wanted this blue to be my background color,

and that I wanted all the cut elements to be white.

So here’s my cutting tip for you today.

There are two optional ways to get the same look.

Since I really like puzzles, and piecing, I did the same cut from white cardstock.

9la3tgEg7Bq4AExfx4 goeXK l0SxbAFGJqVzu3lOQg 8z7BJDCDmloq23roJzsZ1ylV60XXOAeAcmXRPLKRsGLQmIR kAbgE7AbkSTAfT4pc1bT9 Zy5fldI5JilUPwMpvbVsAXX1AOE yTKSPtgh83AIxh XNTL1Brfl 9 pIfcthdrV1HjRqvgKEcsA

I took all the white elements from this cut,

and inlaid them into the blue background piece.

I took care to add all the little pieces from the lettering too.

It was lots of fun to put it all together!

hozLdZwFx2FyTxYjVHqlYi8Az6HXZq1Rvl5PRPBj93lAip Pj83AYp2SOFartexVfP6yQaBC xuWAqjcLc

However, there’s a quicker and easier way to get the same effect.

In the photo below, you can see that I have simply placed the blue background piece

on top of a sheet of white cardstock.

This way it was only a couple of lettering bits that needed to be added.

Do they look different to you?

You have options based on what you enjoy most!

Bgd

I then went on to cut the Happy Snowman  pieces out.

I reversed the snowman so that it fit better with my design.

I scattered the snowflakes around the page and adhered them in place.

Our snow is always glittery and full of beautiful sparkle.

I went over my page and added pretty Stickles to all the snowflakes,

as well as parts of the snowman.

N1 Lhjqq5BX8J Cl KdpTGFZ8nVLoblDC3C2 MC0ZBMKkLNqhfj3FqZj3OvBeeC9QyPIo0eIDZpodS6bVwcITKLlWppdjNpQQzvLNpppwjwwohnWxaGc9BljRhLZcLAUbrELG29J1LyBhKviv8NoR4gwauqSBJM aWKNj3ED1H5fLtB3JCzrhxZqh kJA

Since this is my Winter Album title page,

I wanted “Winter” to be across the bottom.

I really like the font in the Marshmallow World file.

I used that cut in my design but decided to keep the “in the” too.

Now I can fill this album with all the photos and projects made

“in the Winter”!

There are so many great themed cut files in the shop!

 They work beautifully together,

and combine so easily for any creative project!

Happy New Year Card

Happy New Year Card Inspiration
Happy New Year Card Inspiration

Hey everybody! Leslie here and thanks for joining me on the blog today! I’m still shaking my head at how fast this year has flown by! Mom always said “the older you get the faster the time flies” and she sure was right. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and you’re embracing the start of a new year! I created a pretty but simple new year’s note card featuring the Buffalo Plaid Digital Paper Pack, Happy New Year Title SVG File & Clipart, and Champagne Glasses SVG File!

I printed a black and white diamond buffalo plaid print from the Buffalo Plaid Digital Paper Pack on 65# Hammermill copy paper and trimmed a panel for the front which I layered on yellow cardstock.

Next, I printed the new year title from the PNG Clipart file in the Happy New Year Title SVG File & Clipart and cut it on my Scan N Cut.

Then finally, I cut the champagne glasses (bottom layer only) from light gray cardstock.

I adhered the elements to the card front and added a wooden arrow embellished with light gray pearls. The finishing touch was adding a few tiny clear gemstones at the top of the glasses for the bubbles.

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the diamond buffalo plaid and yellow cardstock used on the front, and left the panel blank to write a custom message.

Thanks again for stopping by today, and Happy New Year to you all!

Scrappy hugs,

Leslie

Cute Kitten Slimline Card Idea

cute kitten slimline card making idea

Hey everybody! Leslie here and thanks for joining me on the blog today. My husband and I are crazy cat people and we rescue, so you will undoubtedly see cat-themed posts from time to time.

The slimline card I’m sharing today features the super adorable Pouncing Cat and Yarn Basket SVG files from the amazing Purrr-fect Pals Cat SVG Bundle. OMGoodness, there are a whopping 29 files in this bundle and if you are a fellow cat lover, then you’re sure to find some whimsical kitties and accessories that you just can’t live without!

I had birthday in mind when I created this card but it really could be used for just about any celebratory event.

cute kitten slimline card inspiration

I cut a 3-3/4″ x 9″ slimline card base from heavyweight white cardstock along with a wood-look patterned paper layering panel which I adhered to the card base.

I cut all the pieces from the Pouncing Cat and Yarn Basket SVG files (both from the Purrr-fect Pals Cat SVG Bundle) from lighter weight white cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers. This was something a little different than cutting the pieces from colored cardstock which I typically do.

I cut the inside panel from white cardstock, and embellished it with leftover patterned paper used on the front and a narrow strip of charcoal brown cardstock. I stamped another sentiment in brown ink and layered the panel on the charcoal brown cardstock.

Hello, my friends!

It’s Nancy here with you today!

This was such a fun card to make!

Here’s my card:

Isn’t that pretty?
I cut the doily base out of the teal cardstock,
and then cut the lace layer from white cardstock
Both layers were then added to my circle card base.

I used the Print then Cut feature with this pretty floral wreath file.
I sized it to fit into the center of my doily card,
and adhered it in place with foam tape.
