DIY Apple Thank You Card

Hi friends! I am sharing this adorable DIY apple thank you card. Thank you cards are one of the most common cards I make, right behind birthday and sympathy. I think it is really important to thank people when credit is due. I love to make them all year long with various themes

Supplies Used:

• Apple Barrel SVG Cut File & Clipart
• A2 Card base
• 4.0 x 5.25” card panel
• Cardstock in various colors
• Adhesive
• Adhesive foam
• Blending ink in gray and brown
• Embossing folder of your choice
• Ink for splattering
  

Bring the SVG file into your cutting machine software. Resize design to fit in a 4.00×5.25″ rectangle. Type the text “Thanks a bushel!” in a font of your choice. Chunkier will be much easier to cut and glue in place. To curve the text in Silhouette Studio, double-click the text so you can see this white circle.

Drag that circle (the text will follow) over to a piece of the basket. I am aiming for the top of the basket so that the curve of the text matches the curve of the basket. It will attach itself to the shape. Don’t worry it will not stay attached to the basket piece.

Once you like the curve and position of the text, click the text, then right-click and choose “convert to path.” Now your text is separate from the basket and you can separate them. The curve remains. Cut all elements out with the papers of your choice. Assemble and glue the apples and the basket.

Apply ink to an embossing folder and then run the card base through an embossing machine. Add more ink for the background if desired. I added dark gray to a wood grain embossing folder and added a lighter gray to the finished panel.

Glue the panel to the card base and add all assembled elements. If desired, add a little ink splatter.
