Hi there, it’s Dorlene and I’m showing off a fun monster birthday card I made using a Halloween cut file. This just goes to show that some files can be used any time of the year!
I used the Green Halloween One Eyed Monster E322 cut file and cut him at 3.5” tall. When creating a small image, you can certainly use vinyl for the small pieces (like the nails & teeth) but I decided to stick with cardstock since I was on a roll. If you go with cardstock like I did, you might want to place the small pieces in a small container to avoid losing any of them. I find it best to use a liquid adhesive & tweezers for small parts as well.
The nice thing about the cut files is that there are two different choices within each file. One is best for cutting with cardstock and the other with vinyl. Unfortunately, I used the image meant for vinyl, but it all worked out. Read the information on this link for assistance. I learned firsthand that it can be a timesaver!
I used two different shades of green for the monster and a light teal for the hair & nails. When I make cards, I try to use paper scraps when I can. Oh my goodness, I love how cute this little guy is. Who knew monsters don’t have to be scary!?!
Birthday patterned paper, a colorful banner and a white circle were added to the card base as well as a wobbler to the back of the monster. Now, it’s not only super cute, but it’s interactive!
Can you just see the movement? It’s really hard to capture in a photo, but this is not just a blurry photo, it’s wobbling!
I hope this fun monster birthday wobble card inspires you to look outside the box when shopping for cut files. Even though it’s titled as Halloween, it is perfect for a birthday project!
Happy crafting!
