Hello crafters! This is Michi of Mitchcraftaholic. Six months have flown by, and I can’t believe this is my 12th and final craft project for the Winter–Spring Design term. It has been such a joy creating and sharing with you, and I hope my projects have inspired you or taught you something new along the way.

As I wrap up this term and prepare to welcome 2026 in just a few days, I wanted my final project to be meaningful, thoughtful, and perfect for new beginnings.

Housewarming gifts are a wonderful way to celebrate a fresh start, and adding a handmade touch makes them feel even more special. If you’re not sure what to give, this Housewarming Gift Card Holder is a simple yet heartfelt way to elevate a practical gift.

For this project, I’m using the New Home Gift Card Holder SVG file from Printable Cuttable Creatables. It’s an easy, beginner-friendly craft that still looks polished and intentional.

Ready to make your own? Let’s get started!

Materials & Tools:

  • Cricut Maker 3
  • Cricut Scoring Wheel
  • Cardstock (smooth and textured)
  • Vellum
  • Sizzix Die Cutting Machine
  • Sizzix Embossing Folder
  • Sizzix Pearlescent Medium
  • Glue or adhesive of choice

How to Make a Housewarming Gift Card Holder

Step 1: Open Cricut Design Space and upload the New Home Gift Card Holder SVG file.

Step 2: Customize your design: Decide which elements you want to use and delete any parts you don’t need.

Step 3: Set the Score Line: Use your Cricut to cut the shapes from vellum, smooth cardstock, and textured cardstock.

Step 4. Add Texture: Once everything is cut, run the cardstock through an embossing folder to add texture. I chose a brick pattern to give it a cozy, “new home” feel. Embossing really takes a simple Housewarming Gift Card Holder up a notch!

Step 5. Assemble the holder: If you don’t have a Cricut, print the included PDF file, then cut and score the design manually.

Step 6. Apply the finishing touch: Finally, brush a light layer of pearlescent medium over the design. This adds a subtle shimmer and a polished, elegant finish that makes your Housewarming Gift Card Holder extra special.

And just like that, your handmade gift card holder is ready to bring a little extra joy to someone’s new home—a small gesture that shows big love and care
