Galentines Day Gift Tutorial png 1 1

Valentine’s Day is all about love, and that love doesn’t have to be romantic. Galentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to celebrate your best friend, your constant, your chosen family. For this project, I created a 3-in-1 Galentine’s Day gift set made especially for a girlfriend: a handmade card, a fun pair of earrings, and a personalized mug.

Let’s break it down!

Part 1: Layered Friendship Card for Your BFF

Part 1: Layered Friendship Card for Your BFF

Of course, no gift is complete without a card. This Galentine’s Day / Friendship Day card is layered, colorful, and most of all, has a cute texture!

When I saw the Friendship Bracelet design from Printable Cuttable Creatables, I knew I had to make something with it. The result is a cute, bright, and textured card that really celebrates friendship.

Bonus: this is also a great scrap-busting project!

Materials Used:

  • Friendship Bracelet cut file – get it here
  • Optional hand-cut file
  • White cardstock
  • Embossing folder
  • Die cutting machine (Sizzix Big Shot)
  • Cutting machine (Cricut Maker)
  • Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue
  • CutterPillar Crease Scoreboard
  • Black vinyl
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun

Instructions

1. Lay out your design in Cricut Design Space. Upload all cut files, layer them, and resize as needed. For this project, I used Printable Cuttable Creatables’ Friendship Bracelet cut file along with a hand-cut file from Design Space.

2. Since the bracelet pieces are small, take advantage of this project to use up your cardstock scraps.

3. To make the letters easier to cut and adhere, cut them from vinyl. Be sure to attach the letters in Design Space so they cut as one word, making the transfer easier.

4. Adhere all the hand and bracelet pieces together using glue, and adhere the letters using transfer tape.

5. Cut white cardstock to 4.25 x 5.5 inches, this will be your background.

6. Choose an embossing folder and run the cardstock through your Sizzix Big Shot

7. Prepare your card base: cut cardstock to 8.5 x 5.5 inches, score at 4.25 inches, and fold.

8. Adhere the embossed panel to the card base.

9. Place the hand in the center, allowing it to extend past the card edge.

10. Trim off the excess.

11. Add the heart on top of the hand.

12. Attach the bracelets to the lower part of the hand. A glue gun works best here since the layers are thick and textured.

13. Trim any excess pieces, and your card is done!

Part 2: Pizza Earrings for Extra Fun

The second part of this Galentine’s Day gift is a pair of earrings using Printable Cuttable Creatables’ Love You to Pizzas design. Cute, quirky, and perfect for a best friend who loves food and fun accessories.

7. Optional (but super cute): create a mini pizza box as gift packaging using the same design.

Don’t worry if the pizzas shrink a little wonky, they’re pizzas! Even real ones change shape when baked and sliced!

Part 3: Personalized “Best-Tea” Mug

To complete the Galentine’s Day surprise, I made a personalized mug using Printable Cuttable Creatables’ My Best-Tea design.

I love that this design includes an outline cut file, making it perfect for vinyl projects, especially if you don’t have a sublimation printer.

Materials Used

  • Mug
  • Ruler
  • Cricut Permanent Vinyl
  • Weeding tool
  • Cricut Transfer Tape

Instructions

1. Measure your mug and decide the size of the design.

2. Resize the design in Cricut Design Space.

3. Cut the design using permanent vinyl.

5. Clean the mug surface thoroughly.

6. Apply the vinyl using transfer tape

And That’s a Wrap!

And tadaaaaaa! You’re all set to shower your BFF with love this February 14. This 3-in-1 Galentine’s Day gift is thoughtful, handmade, and really sweet – just like your best friend. Because love isn’t just for couples… it’s for friendships that feel like home
