Hi there! It’s Dorlene. I’m sharing a super fun pop-out card that I created using the Alien and Planets SVG cut files.

When I saw this alien, I knew it would be perfect for a birthday card for my daughter-in-law. She loves aliens, and this one is so cute! To make this card super special, I made it a little interactive.

In order for this card to pop out, I cut a piece of acetate at 1×4” and scored it at 0.5”, 1.5”, 2.5”, and 3.5”. I then folded this piece to form a square. You can also use cardstock, but because the bottom of the alien was not solid, I didn’t want the cardstock to show through.

This type of card works best with the card base that opens at the bottom. In other words, score a 4.25×11” piece of cardstock at 5.5” to create your card base.

I splattered some white enamel spray & clear sparkles over the front of the card base to create a starry space background.

I sized the planet to 4” and cut it (approximately) in half and placed it at the bottom edge of the card opening. The alien comes in three layers which when adhered directly on top of each other makes it nice and sturdy.

Once I adhered the acetate pop out mechanism to the bottom edge of the card (on top of the planet), I adhered the alien to the front side of it using strong double sided tape.

I found some stars to adhere to the background; added white pen highlights to the alien and the planet to complete the card.

As you can see, the card folds flat to place in the envelope and then will “pop out” when opened. So fun!
