Hello Printable Cuttable Creatables fans and Scrapping For Tranquility Fans! I want to share with you a fun and Wickedly Cute Halloween Scrapbook layout I did for my granddaughter’s 9-month-old photos. Her mother is about all things Halloween and Fall. In fact, my granddaughter’s name is Oktober! Teehee. Here is my layout:
Now, to step back a little, I talked last month about chatting with you and adding pattern paper to your layouts. Here is a prime example.
I looked at my photos and decided on the colors I was using for my paper piecings and my background paper.
Once I had my background paper chosen, I pick anywhere from 2 to 3 other solids that will be my color palette in case I want to make photo mats or need them for highlights as in edging, etc. Here I chose green, purple and orange.
Once I had that main color palette in solids, I picked one or 2 pattern papers in that color family. Most of the time only one pattern paper will do, but I always choose 2 just in case.
That is when I start playing with my cardstock and pictures to decide my layout and how I want it. My layout here is a fallback layout I use for a lot of my photos.
I start with the hilly ground (which doesn’t have to be green, use your imagination!). Then I use my pattern cardstock to go up from the solid about 1 1/2 inches more. A lot of the time my background paper is not solid, but a small print to make the layout stand out. For Example, polka dots, flowers, etc. This is a beautiful purple shade from 12×12 Cardstock Shop (the best place to get all your solid American Crafts and Bazzill cardstock!).
For the “sky” at the top of the page, I chose the polka dots that matched the stripes and the rest of my solids. I really liked how my prints and solids worked together.
The cut files I chose from Printable Cuttable Creatables are from the Cute Witch and Friends Halloween SVG Set. It is just darling. I made everything in the set except for the 3 pumpkins. I really thought it said everything I wanted it to say for my photos.
The Vampire bat and moon are just so realistic looking but cute at the same time along with the cat and cauldron.
Mr. Cat could be made to look scary or just as cute as can be. I love the bubbles and steam coming out of the cauldron pot! Now, how fun is that?
I just loved the spider and web and even if you are not a huge fan of spiders, she is so cute, you can’t pass her up!
Now, this little witch…… she is the most darling little witch I have ever seen! Besides my granddaughter! LOL
This title is so adorable and I could have thought of a million and one things to do with it. I just liked the way it was and used it as-is.
I hope you enjoyed this Wickedly Cute Halloween Scrapbook Layout, and the small tutorial on how to select and use pattern paper for your scrapbook layouts.
