Hi there, it’s Dorlene and I’m excited to announce that I’m guest designing this month. It’s Spring and a perfect time of the year for butterflies, flowers, sunshine and even rain.
I decided to create a different kind of card to feature the Spring Butterflies SVG cut file. I’m calling it a flip out arch card. I don’t know the official name, but this one pretty much describes what it is. This Spring Butterfly Arch Card is such a fun way to show off layered borders and a beautiful focal butterfly.
After uploading the Spring Butterflies file into Cricut Design Space, I also uploaded the Spring Borders SVG cut file set. You don’t necessarily have to use this file, but it sure does add more Spring fun! The card base was also created in Cricut Design Space using their free shapes & score line.

As usual, I lay out the pieces before adding adhesive. This has saved the adhesive mess on many occasions so this is highly recommended!

The butterfly is so beautiful with three shades of yellow!

The card base is folded at the middle score line and then fold back the top arch in the middle as shown in the photo. You can always use a rectangle card if you want but the arch card is a whole vibe!

Center and adhere the light blue arch inside the card. Now it’s time to layer the Spring Borders to both the inside and front of the card. Adhere the darker green grass to the front of the fence and adhere this piece to the bottom of the light blue arch edge on the inside of the card.
Add the lighter green piece with flower base/stems only on the bottom edge and sides of the open arch. Mark the placement if needed. This will be sandwiched between two open arch pieces to give it stability.

Don’t you love the layered look? This gives the card so much more dimension than adding all three borders to the inside.

Once you add all the flowers; use foam adhesive to place the butterfly; add sequins; and a Happy Birthday greeting, you are done! What do you think?
More Spring SVG Files

It sure is pretty! If you give this Spring Butterfly Arch Card a try, I’d love to see your version.

Let me tell you, I use Printable Cuttable Creatables SVG files in many projects. It was a real pleasure to share another one on their blog. Be sure to follow me on my socials for lots of fun PCC projects and more.
