01 Puff Heat Transfer Vinyl

Hello friends!  This is Linh or LV Handcrafted across the socials. Sometimes it’s nice to make yourself a little something. I’m working with puff heat transfer vinyl on a zipper pouch, and used the Be Mine Retro Shadow SVG but conveniently left off the “Be”.

The pastel PUFF Heat Transfer vinyl looks fabulous against black! I’m going to keep one of these and give the other one to my sister-in-law. These little canvas zipper pouches make for great little gifts!

Puff HTV can be tricky to work with. You do want to mirror your design when you go to cut it. Make sure you’re cutting into your vinyl and that the plastic carrier sheet is touching your cutting mat.

You also want to preheat your substrate before you transfer your vinyl. Puff vinyl also needs a very firm press. So you want to use a firm mat under your substrate and adjust your heat press so you can give it firm pressure.

I tried with just a small handheld mini heat press on the pink version and it got very minimal puff.

Products used:

NOTE: I used the TintNut brand of vinyl because it comes in a multi-pack with so many beautiful colors, but there is a bit of texture on the puff and it’s not a very dimensional puff.  I’ve heard great things about Siser brand puff vinyl and I’ll be trying that next!

Happy crafting!
