Easy Spring Stencil Sign Tutorial

Happy Spring! I have been having a crafter’s block with the weather getting nicer. It’s so nice out, and it’s also time for spring cleaning/purging and planning a big summer trip. There is never enough time to do everything! Who else feels the same way?!

I have this Oramask Masking film 213. I got it from a friend, thinking it was vinyl, but no! It’s a stencil! Kind of cool. This will be my first time using it, so follow along with this easy spring stencil tutorial!

I used the welcome spring sign for the stencil vinyl. First, cut the image onto the stencil vinyl.

Once cut, I realized it’s going to be a 2-part process for weeding and coloring. You do not want to remove the negative vinyl for stencil vinyl on items! Because you’re doing the opposite and coloring yourself.

My daughter used her Posca markers to color it in.

Since my favorite princess is back in theaters (you know, the one who’s fairest of them all!), I was inspired to add her and her tiny friends to complete the spring wooden sign. That tree stump turned out to be the perfect royal perch for our princess!

My daughter used her Posca markers to color it in.

The sign is just about done, but I hope it gives you ideas about using stencil vinyl—it’s just a different way of utilizing vinyl!

Happy spring to all!!
