Hi there! I love St. Patrick’s Day—leprechauns, rainbows, and shamrocks—so fun! I wanted a sparkly shirt just for the occasion and I found the perfect design. Here are the instructions in case you are new to the process. This DIY St. Patrick’s Day Shirt is such a fun way to wear all the color and sparkle you want.

Supplies Used:
- Happy Go Lucky SVG File
- Heat Transfer Vinyl in your choice of colors
- T-shirt
- Heat press or iron
- A sheet of parchment paper or Teflon paper
Measure how big you would like the design on your shirt. I mainly focus on the width, not so much on the height. I want my design to be 9” wide.
Bring in the assembled design to your electronic cutter software. Resize the design to the desired size. In this photo, I drew a rectangle in the color of the shirt I am using and I changed some colors. I wanted to add in some purple and decided to make the text and clover green. This way I can get an idea of how it would look on my shirt.

Delete or move the rectangle to the side. Separate the design and cut each color in the desired heat transfer vinyl. Weed the vinyl of the parts that are not needed.
Fold the shirt in half and iron or press a crease down the center. It is good to iron the whole shirt to remove wrinkles, if needed, but also to remove moisture from the air. The crease down the center acts as a guide for positioning the design.

I start pressing a design from top to bottom, so start with the largest color of the rainbow. Fold that arch in half and pinch the center. Align this crease up with the one in the shirt. I leave 2–3 inches between collar and design. Press each color separately.

Once all colors of the rainbow and the text are pressed, cover with parchment paper or Teflon paper and give the whole design a really good press. This will help the design adhere to the fabric as best as it can.
It is so fun to make a shirt in all the textures and colors you want. I will wear this a few times in March but I will also wear it any time of the year.
