For this week’s mini album, I created something easy and simple, no complicated binding required! Instead of stitching or hidden spines, I simply used a punch hole and a ring binder to hold everything together. Super beginner-friendly, efficient but still so cute!
I absolutely loved the Tropical Summer Paper Pack from Printable Cuttable Creatables, I’m a sucker for anything colorful and vibrant, and this collection just hit the spot. And of course… I’m also a sucker for anything shaker, so turning this into a shaker jar mini album was a must!
If you’re a Cricut user, you can access the Design Space file I created for this Shaker Jar Mini Album. If not, no worries! You can print a mason jar template, draw your own, or use a metal die to create the base.
Materials Used:
- Plain white cardstock
- Cricut Maker
- Pattern paper – I used Tropical Summer Paper Pack from Printable Cuttable Creatables
- Ring binder
- We R Memory Keepers Crop-a-dile
- Bearly Art Precision Glue
- Acetate sheet
- Foam tape
- Shaker bits
- Mirror cardstock (for jar lids)
- Decorative Embellishment for the album cover – I used Summer Vibes Retro Sun (currently FREE in Printable Cuttable Creatables site!)
Optional:
- Tassel and beads (to decorate your binder ring)
- Other embellishment (to decorate your pages)
How I Made it:

1. Cut the jar bases (cover and pages) from plain white cardstock.

2. Cut smaller jar layers from patterned paper (I used PCC’s Tropical Summer Paper Pack).

3. Adhere the patterned layers to the white cardstock jars (front and back).

4. Create the shaker well by cutting multiple jar outlines from cardstock and gluing them together to build dimension.

5. Punch a hole on the upper left side of each jar for the ring binder.

6. Attach the stacked outline to your chosen front cover.

7. Add shaker bits inside.

8. Cut an acetate jar and adhere it on top to seal the shaker.

9. Cover the stacked edges with another jar outline cut from solid cardstock (I used dark pink).

10. Cut jar lids (I used mirror cardstock), two per page – front and back –Â and punch aligned holes.

11. Decorate the front cover. I used Summer Vibes Retro Sun and added foam tape for extra dimension.

12. Bind everything together using the ring binder.
Optional: Decorate each page with summer-themed cut files! I found lots of cute free designs in Printable Cuttable Creatables and did a little scrap-busting to embellish my pages. I also added a tassel and beads to the ring binder for extra cuteness and summer fun!

This mini album is proof that simple binding doesn’t mean boring. It’s colorful, interactive, and perfect for summer memories. Plus, the shaker design just makes it extra fun!
