DIY Halloween Popcorn Bag Wrapper

Hey crafty friends! Latoya here from Hanging with the Kiddos, and Iʼm back again with another fun project. Today, Iʼm sharing a super cute and easy DIY Halloween Popcorn Bag Wrappers, featuring the adorable Cute Witch  Friends Halloween SVG & Embellishment Set (PNG files) from Printable Cuttable Creatables. These wrappers are perfect for class parties, boo baskets, or adding a little extra magic to your Halloween movie night. Letʼs get crafty!

SVGs & Supplies Used

Gather these simple supplies—most are probably already in your craft stash!

• PNGs from the Cute Witch Friends Halloween SVG set
• Canva (or your favorite design software)
• Hanging with the Kiddos Glossy Paper Sheets or high-quality cardstock
• (8.5″ x 11″)
• Color printer
• Scissors or paper trimmer Double-sided tape or glue
• Standard microwave popcorn bags

Step 1: Set Up Your Canvas

Open Canva and create a new custom-size design: 6.31″ x 9.3″ – This fits perfectly around a standard microwave popcorn bag!

Step 2: Add the Front Panel & Adhesive Strip

Draw a rectangle across the center of your canvas to create the front panel—this is where your main design will go.

Optional: For easy assembly, add a light gray strip at the bottom with the text “Place Adhesive Here.”This helps anyone putting the wrappers together know exactly where to put their tape or glue. 

Step 3: Upload Your Halloween Clipart

Locate your PNGs from the Cute Witch Friends Halloween set and upload them to Canva. You’ll find witches, hats, brooms, pumpkins, cats, cauldrons, spiders, webs, and more! 

Step 4: Arrange Your Graphics & Add Text

Drag your favorite PNGs onto the front panel. Place the main character (like the witch on her broom) front and center. Layer in pumpkins, cauldrons, and webs for extra Halloween magic!

Add a playful greeting using Canvaʼs text tool, such as:

“Just Poppin’ by to Wish You a Wickedly Poppin’ Halloween!”

Personalize with a “From:ˮ label if youʼd like.

Design Tips:

• Use bold, easy-to-read fonts and bright colors.
• Keep important details away from the edges.
• Experiment with backgrounds—stripes, solids, or patterns!

Step 5: Download & Print

When you’re happy with your design, click Share > Download > PDF Print for best quality. Select your finished page and save it to your computer. 

Open the PDF and print using your printerʼs “Glossy Photo Paperˮ setting, and choose Actual Size (not “fit to pageˮ).

Step 6: Cut, Wrap & Assemble

Here’s how to put it all together: 

Simple Assembly Steps:

• Cut out your printed wrapper using scissors or a paper trimmer.
• Lay your wrapper face down. Place a standard microwave popcorn bag in the center. 
• Wrap the sides of the wrapper around the popcorn bag, overlapping at the back.
• Apply double-sided tape or glue to the “Place Adhesive Here”strip.
• Press to seal and you’re done!
