Hello crafty friends! For this week’s project, I’m sharing how I made a little Easter kit that’s perfect as an Easter basket stuffer or Easter gift for kids this coming Easter. It’s an Easter Chicks decorative magnet set that’s cute, functional, and fun—and it will definitely keep the children (and artsy-fartsy adults too!) busy after the Easter egg hunt!
So without further ado, here is how I made this DIY Easter Magnet Craft Kit.
Part 1 – Easter Chicks Magnets
Materials Used:
- Easter Chicks SVG from Printable Cuttable Creatables
- Magnetic Sheet
- Photo Top
- Printer
- Cricut Maker
- Cricut Scraper
- Cricut Deep-Point Blade
Instructions
Prepare your SVG for Print Then Cut. Your images can be any size you prefer, but make sure they are big enough to be decorated with markers.

Print your SVG.

Once printed, cover your printed sheet with Photo Top. I used a matte one. You can use your Cricut Scraper to help adhere the Photo Top smoothly and avoid air bubbles.

Cut the images using your Cricut.

After the Print Then Cut process, select your chick shapes and change the setting to Basic Cut.

Cut the same shapes from your magnetic sheet.

Adhere the printed images to the cut magnets. To make sure they are straight, remove just a small part of the sticker backing and stick it to the top edge of the magnet first. Adjust until it’s aligned, then slowly remove the rest of the backing while pressing it down.

Repeat for the remaining Easter chicks.

Part 2 – Box and Tag
- Pattern Paper (I used the Happy Easter Digital Paper Pack)
- Decorative Embellishment (I used one of the chicks from the same collection, Easter Chicks SVG)
- Glue
- White cardstock
- Foam tape
Create your gift box. You can recycle an existing box and cover it with pattern paper, manually make one, or cut one using your Cricut.
Choose a box design and cut it with your Cricut.

Once the box and lid are cut, fold along the score lines.

Glue the tabs to assemble both the box and the lid.

Next, create the tag in Design Space
Add a tag shape to your canvas and place your preferred background behind it. I used a cute Easter egg pattern from the Happy Easter Digital Paper.

Place the tag shape over the pattern paper, select them both, and click Slice.

Place the tag shape over the pattern paper, select them both, and click Slice.

Add one of the Easter Chicks images to your canvas and resize it to fit your tag.

Duplicate the image. Place one chick on the tag where you want it to appear.

Add your preferred text. I used: “Chicks are colored, bright and neat. Decorate them, make them sweet!”

Arrange the text on the tag and adjust the spacing as needed.

Convert the text to Print Then Cut.

Select the tag, text, and chick together and click Flatten.

Print and cut the tag.

Use foam tape to adhere the extra chick on top of the printed chick on the tag for a cute dimensional effect.

Part 3 – Assemble
Materials Needed
- Easter Chicks Magnets
- Gift Box
- Tag
- Ribbon
- Markers
- Crinkle shredded paper
Place the markers inside the box.

Add a layer of crinkle shredded paper on top.

Place the Easter chick magnets on top so they’re nicely displayed.

Close the box, tie a ribbon around it, and attach the tag.
This little DIY Easter Magnet Craft Kit is such a fun and interactive gift idea. The chicks are already bright and colorful, but kids can still decorate them with markers to make them extra cute and unique. It’s a simple project that turns into a fun Easter activity long after the egg hunt is over.

Happy crafting!
