DIY Cheer Bow with Glitter HTV

Hey crafty friends! I’m Latoya from Hanging with the Kiddos, and I’m back again with another fun idea.  

If you’re looking for a creative way to show your team spirit or make unique party favors, here’s an easy project: turn a simple bow hair tie into a custom DIY cheer bow with glitter HTV!  

For my version, I used the Printable Cuttable Creatables Cheer SVG Set and glitter heat transfer vinyl (HTV) – you can use any color or finish that fits your style. 

SVGs & Supplies Used

Here’s everything I used to create my DIY cheer bow with glitter HTV:

• Pre-made bow hair tie (any color) 
• Cheer SVG Set from Printable Cuttable Creatables
• Heat transfer vinyl (HTV) 
• Cricut Maker & Design Space software 
• Heat press or iron 
• Weeding tool 

How I Made a Cheer Bow with Glitter HTV

First, I picked out my favorite cheer-themed SVGs from the Printable Cuttable Creatables Cheer SVG Set. I went with the pom poms, megaphone, and cheer uniform—they just felt so classic and fun! 

Next, I uploaded the SVGs into Cricut Design Space and resized them to fit  nicely on the tails of my bow.

For the vinyl, I went with black glitter HTV for extra sparkle—but you can use any  color or finish you want! I placed the HTV shiny side down on my mat and cut out  my designs. 

After my Cricut did its thing, I weeded away the extra vinyl and arranged the  designs on the bow tails. I played around with the placement until I liked how everything looked. 

Then I used my mini heat press to apply the designs, following the instructions for  the HTV. Once I peeled off the carrier sheet, I had a custom cheer hair tie bow  that’s ready for game day, spirit events, or as a special party favor!

This project is perfect for sports teams, school spirit days, or as party favors— plus, itʼs a great reminder that SVGs arenʼt just for shirts and tumblers. There are so many ways to get creative!
