Cute Fruit DIY Earrings

Ciao Amici! I’m dropping in from Morena’s Corner to show how I used adorable fruit SVG designs with shrink plastic to make these little Cute Fruit DIY Earrings! These would make fun party favors. This would also be a great activity to make with a group of kids. Here’s how you can make your own cute fruit earrings.

DIY Shrink Plastic Earring Supply List:

Shrink Plastic DIY Earrings Tutorial

First, you want to choose the fruit graphics that you wish to use and arrange them so they fit a standard 8.5 by 11-inch sheet of paper. I used Silhouette Studio to create my print file. I made each fruit piece approximately 3 inches tall. When my design was ready, I printed it out on a sheet of white shrink plastic. Please note that you will need to use a laser printer for this project! (I tried using my inkjet printer and the ink never dried, even after baking!)

I fussy cut all the images out and arranged them on a cookie sheet. Bake the shrink plastic per the directions on the packaging. Every brand varies, but mine only took 3 minutes to shrink down!

I did a side-by-side comparison to show how much the plastic shrunk. What started out as approximately 3 inches tall wound up being about an inch tall after baking!

Use Dimensional Magic to seal the adorable little shrunk plastic fruit and give them a glossy top cover. When they are dry you can flip them over and glue the earring posts onto them.

I cut several earring display cards out from bright blue sky cardstock and added the earrings. These will be fun to add to Easter baskets or goody bags in the future!
