Cupcake Shaker Card Tutorial

Hello Friends!

Kris here and I’m back with a super cool project.  I have been seeing shaker cards around and I always wondered how people made them, so I decided to give it a try and play around with an SVG file from Printable Cuttable Creatables to see what I could come up with!

For this project you will need:

The first thing I did was start off with the pieces from the SVG file that I needed and I blocked off the rest of the SVG file.  I’m left with a cupcake, pink icing, and the wrapper.

Next, I duplicated the pink icing part.

I then selected one of the icings to offset as you can see the black outline.  Once I had the offset, I highlighted both the icing piece and the offset piece and I sliced them together.  Essentially in this step, all I want is the frame of the icing.

Now, I’m left with a cupcake, a wrapper, a pink icing piece, and a black icing outline.  The pink icing is what you will cut out with the acetate paper.

After everything is cut, here is the fun part….putting the cupcake together and adding all sorts of sprinkles!!!

I first glue the acetate icing to the icing outline.

Next, I will take the full cupcake piece and add 3D foam adhesives all the way around the icing area.

Now it’s time to add all the pretty sprinkles your heart desires.  Mix it up, add all sorts of colors….simply have fun!!

The final step is to add the acetate icing piece to the 3D foam adhesive area.

Add it to a card and you have made your very own shaker card!
