Howdy, friends! I’m visiting from Morena’s Corner to share a cute way you can personalize any birthday cake. Make an adorable banner cake topper in your party colors, and customize it with your own message. It’s a quick and cute way to make the cake as unique as the recipient!
Banner Cake Topper Supplies List
- Birthday Banners SVG Cut Files & Clipart Set
- Vintage Vinyl Records Retro SVG File
- Silhouette Cameo or similar cutting machine
- Chipboard
- Metallic Vinyl in Black, Red, and Silver
- Transfer Tape
- Faux leather necklace cord.
- Wood or bamboo skewers
- Hot Glue Gun
Import the banner SVG files into your design program and size it to fit your cake. I made my banner 11 inches wide. Choose your message (I used “You Rock”) and make sure the letters will fit on your banner.
Cut the back layer of the banner from the chipboard.
Cut the remaining elements from the vinyl. I used black for the banner, silver for the letters and the record, and red for the center of the record album.
Weed the vinyl and use transfer tape to add the vinyl to the chipboard.
You can cut the “string” for the banner or hot glue cording onto the banner like I did.
Use a hot glue gun to attach the wood skewers to the back of the banner.
Place the skewers in the cake to hold the banner up, then decorate the cake as desired. Have fun crafting and creating your own custom banners for your cakes!
Happy crafting!
