Hey everybody! Leslie here and thanks for joining me on the blog today. I’m so stoked to be a new Printable Cuttable Creatables DT member – this is another dream come true for this old gal!
I’m all about Americana and anything red, white and blue, and I grew up seeing live mermaid shows at the Weeki Wachee Springs Attraction (in central FL), so my debut inspiration project is a combination of the two. I created a fun wall hanging featuring the Mermaid in the USA SVG file, Mermaid Tail SVG file, and red plaid digital paper from the Christmas Patterns Digital Paper Mega Bundle. Yep, you read that right… Christmas paper isn’t just for Christmas! 😉
Cut the Pieces
Cut all the pieces in the Mermaid in the USA SVG file in red, white, blue and gold glitter cardstock, sorted by color, as per the instruction sheet included in the SVG file.
Print the Digital Paper
Print the red plaid digital paper from the Christmas Patterns Digital Paper Mega Bundle. This versatile paper pack can be used for non-holiday projects, too!
Assemble the Wall Hanging
Trim the digital paper and adhere it to a sturdy 8×8 cardstock panel. Adhere all the pieces as per the instruction sheet included with the SVG file. I ended up adding a layered wave from the Mermaid Tail SVG file at the bottom which I had not originally planned. Punch two holes at the top for a ribbon hanger.
Add a Ribbon Hanger
The final step is adding a red, white and blue grosgrain ribbon hanger with knots tied on the ends.
Thanks again for stopping by today, and we’ll see you next time!
Scrappy hugs,
Leslie
