Hello there! I am really trying to be better about bringing a small gift to events that people host. My family likes to have a baseball cookout and watch the game for our favorite team on opening day or a spring day that fits our schedules. This year the hostess gift is a bottle of fancy mustard for our hot dogs. It doesn’t have to be an extravagant gift, just a token to bring a smile. This DIY Baseball Bottle Tag is an easy way to dress up a simple gift and make it feel a little more special.

Supplies:
- Let’s Play Ball Title SVG File
- A gift in a bottle – beverage or condiment is perfect
- Cardstock in various colors
- Adhesive
- Foam adhesive
- Electronic cutting machine
Measure the diameter of the bottle’s cap, the height of the bottle, and the width front to back. Then follow these calculations using my bottle’s measurements as an example:
- The bottle cap is 1.25 inches – add 0.25 inches to that
- The width front to back of the bottle is 2 inches
- The height of the bottle, below the neck, is 5 inches. You really need the number for how big you want the tag to be. The bottle is only 5 inches, so the tag cannot be bigger than that, but you can choose how much smaller it will be. I am choosing 4 inches.

Draw a rectangle in your design software that is as tall as the measurement from above. My rectangle is 6 inches tall. The width of the bottle from side to side is 2 inches, so the tag needs to be at least that wide. I am going to make it a little bigger at 3 inches. My rectangle is 6 inches tall by 3 inches wide.
Add a score line or perforated line on the rectangle 2 inches from the top. This will be the fold line. Group this line with the rectangle so it stays in place.
The bottle cap on my bottle is 1.25 inches. Add 0.25 inch to that measurement and draw a circle in the design software for your cutting machine.

Add the circle to the top section of the rectangle and center it. This is the hole for the neck of the bottle. Group the circle with the rectangle and your tag design is complete.
Bring the assembled baseball SVG into the software. There are 3 that come in. Choose the one you prefer and size it to the tag. I want it to be wider than the tag.

Separate the layers of the SVG and cut each piece, including the tag, in the colors of your choice. For the text and its shadow pieces, I chose team colors for our team.
Adhere all the pieces together and to the tag. I used adhesive foam to pop up the baseball to give it dimension.
