Hi friends! I am sharing these pumpkin greeting card tips with this easy autumn greetings card that can be used as a note card, birthday card, or even a thank-you card. I like to use adhesive vinyl on greeting cards because it adds an element of shine and is easy to transfer.

Supplies Used:
- Autumn Greetings SVG Cut File
- A2 Card base
- 4.0 x 5.25” card panel
- Adhesive vinyl in orange
- Adhesive vinyl for sentiment in brown or a metallic color
- Transfer tape
- Blending ink in gray and brown
- Watercolors
- Paint brushes
- Glue
- Embellishments such as gems or sequins
- Cutting machine, such as a Cricut machine or Silhouette Cameo
Bring the SVG file into your cutting machine software. Resize design to fit in a 4.00×5.25″ rectangle in landscape orientation. Send the pumpkin to the cutting machine to cut on orange vinyl.
Send the sentiment to the cutting machine to cut on the brown vinyl. Weed the vinyl pieces.

Using transfer tape, transfer the pumpkin design to the card panel.

Using watercolors, color the pumpkin and the background. I used orange, red, and yellow on the pumpkin. I used light green, dark green, and brown on the background. There are no real rules to this—just move the pigment around until you are happy with the result.

Let dry. If you want to speed up the drying time, a heat gun can be used, but be cautious with the vinyl and keep it at a safe distance from the heat source to prevent melting.

Once dry, use transfer tape to transfer the sentiment onto the card base.

Using a fan brush and dark and/or white watercolor, splatter drops over the whole image.

Glue the panel to the card base and add embellishments, such as sequins.

I would really love to see what you do with this design!

I absolutely love how you have made this gorgeous card. However, when transferring vinyl to card, the transfer tape always sticks to the card, no matter how light I try to be, any suggestions please? Thank you.
Hi Faith! I haven’t had any problems with that. I just peel back gently. I don’t use a high tack transfer tape but rather medium sometimes light tack. I do keep a piece on my table that I use repeatedly until it doesn’t do it’s job any longer. Another tip is to stick it to your clothing once and peel off if it’s too tacky. This will pick up some fibers and help reduce it’s strength. I hope these help and I would love to see what you create!
Thank you for the tips. I’ll try again. x
