DIY Tropical Drink Card

Hello there! I made this card that is perfect for many summer occasions or even that beach loving friend. If you know me, you know I love color, sparkle, and texture—and I wanted to show you easy ways to bring that to your paper project. This DIY Tropical Drink Card is such a fun way to do it!

Supplies:

• Tropical Coconut Drink SVG Cut File & Clipart
• Beach Scene SVG Cut File
• Drink in My Hand Toes in the Sand SVG File
• Cardstock in various colors
• Embossing powders in various colors and clear
• Embossing ink – I used a pen and a dauber
• Heat Gun for crafting
• Liquid adhesive
• Foam adhesive
• A2 card base (4.25 x 5.5 inches)
• Electronic Cutting Machine and software (I am using Silhouette Studio with a Cameo)

Bring in the assembled SVG for all 3 designs to your cutting machine software.

Size all the pieces to fit on an A2 card base by sizing the beach background to be 4 x 5.25 inches.

Set up the sentiment piece and the background piece to be printed and cut using the Print & Cut feature. Then print them on white cardstock and cut with your machine. You certainly can cut them out in various cardstocks instead.

Cut all the pieces of the coconut drink. Assemble and glue together.

Using various embossing powders, add texture and shine to the background. I used an embossing ink marker to color the finer details on the ocean water and the sand first.

I used a dauber to add other colors to the sand and clear shine to the rest of the water.

I used an orange and yellow mix to add to the sun rays.

I used a chunky brown embossing powder and added that to the coconut. These little details really make the DIY Tropical Drink Card pop.

Here is a side-by-side example of this versus not doing this. It just gives some shine and interest.

Adhere the drink to the background.

I add some ink to the flower as I decided I didn’t want it to have a flat color.

Using adhesive foam, add the sentiment piece.

Add some clear sequins for a little more whimsical sparkle. One is disguising a glue mark I wanted to hide!
