Hi Crafty friends! Today I am sharing a cute little project you can make for your child’s graduating class! These adorable pencil toppers are easy to create, and even more special when made together with your child. They make such a fun little keepsake or giveaway for classmates and teachers! This Graduation Pencil Topper Tutorial includes two topper styles you can mix and match.

For this project, I used Printable Cuttable Creatables’ Wise Owl Graduate and turned them into cute graduation-themed pencil toppers.
Materials Needed:
- White cardstock
- Grey cardstock
- Gold string
- Paper trimmer
- Scissors
- Foam tape
- Glue
- Glue gun
- Cutter
- Pencils
- Scroll / Diploma design
Scroll / Diploma Design
1. Prepare your Wise Owl Graduate images. I used Cricut’s Print Then Cut feature to make mine

2. Trim a piece of white cardstock to 1 1/2 x 4 inches.

3. Roll the cardstock to create a scroll, then glue it in place so it stays rolled.

4. Tie a piece of gold string around the center for that cute diploma look.

5. Adhere the owl to the scroll.

Book Design
1. Trim both white and grey cardstock to 3 x 2 inches.

2. Score on the 3-inch side at 1 3/8 and 1 5/8 inches

3. Belly band – Cut white cardstock to 2 x 6.5. Cover belly band with 1.75 x 6.25 pattern paper.

4. Close and glue the left flap of the book.

5. Adhere the books together slightly askew for a stacked look.

6. Using a cutter, make a small slit on top of the books.

7. Insert the owl into the slit and secure with a little glue if needed.

8. To finish, adhere your toppers onto pencils using a glue gun.

These were so much fun and easy to make and would be perfect as little graduation favors, classroom gifts, or even keepsakes for your child’s special day. Handmade touches always make celebrations a little more meaningful!
