Cute Candy Corn Card

Cute Candy Corn Card 1

Cute Candy Corn Card 1

Hello friends!  This is Linh or LV Handcrafted across the socials. Did you know there are over 400 freebies you can get from PCC? There are new SVG freebies coming out each week, and great seasonal ones!

I made this Cute Candy Corn Card featuring two different free SVG files – Candy Corn Shaped Card and Candy Corn Cutie. If you’re looking for a fun, inexpensive way to create Halloween cards, these are not only free, but fast and easy to make really special cards.

See how it’s done in this video tutorial:

Here are 6 quick & easy steps:

STEP 1
Load the two SVGs into your electric cutting machine and cut the separated pieces from the colors you’d like.
If your machine doesn’t have the scoring tool, score the card base by lining up where the curved lines start to straighten out.

STEP 2
Apply the larger piece (orange in my card) to the card base.  Apply the smaller piece (yellow in my card) and line it up at the bottom of my card.

STEP 3
Assemble the large candy corn from the “Candy Corn Cutie” SVG.
NOTE: I didn’t use the cut pieces for cheeks and mouth but you can inlay those pieces if you like.

STEP 4
The small candy corns in the sentiment are different from the candy corn card. There’s a base (white), bottom (yellow) and a middle (orange).
The bottom and middle layers are flush with one another and not stacked on top of each other.

STEP 5
I recommend adhering the individual elements around the border first. The shape of the shadow layer can help inform placement of the sentiment and elements.
Then center the “Corn” sentiment in the middle of the space remaining.

STEP 6
Adhere the sentiment to your card and embellish as you wish!

Hi There, it’s Ellen here taking over the PCC blog today.

Are you ready for Halloween yet? I am! I have wanted to make some cute Halloween Trick or Treat Bag Gifts Sets!

Halloween Glass Can Idea

I made two different bags, plus a candy tin and tumbler glass cans using my Cricut along with some inexpensive dollar store supplies, and of course the cutest Halloween SVG files from PCC.

In this post I used:

First, I decorated the tin and glass can with vinyl. I changed the orange color in the image to iridescent vinyl.

Halloween Candy Tin

The Halloween Ghost Wreath SVG file is perfect to fit on a circular lid.

Of course I wanted to be able to hand out the treats in a fun DIY Trick or Treat bag. PCC has a lot of Halloween files to choose from.

I love the Cute Halloween Faces SVG Files Collection, but it’s very difficult to choose between them all! I used the ones that appealed to me the most.

Halloween Trick or Treat Bag with HTV

For the back I used a sentiment that I thought matched the monster bride face on the front.

I couldn’t resist making more! That’s why you can see a second Halloween Trick or Treat Bag Gifts Set here.

Just as I did with the first glass can, I used glitter vinyl for the main image. Together with the iridescent, it really makes these illustrations pop.

This Trick or Treat tin is adorable.

As a final Halloween craft, I made another Halloween Trick or Treat bag using the adorable girl werewolf face..

I love how these Halloween Trick or Treat Bag gifts sets turned out, now I just need to decide what we will dress up as!

How about you? Do you like things scary and gory, or are you like me and enjoy keeping things a little lighter for Halloween?

I’m just getting started out with my laser cutter/engraver, so I was thrilled to see the new Laser Cut Files offered at Printable Cuttable Creatables. I used one of the adorable laserable files to create these cute bag clips that are perfect for boo bags and party favors.

Vinyl Bookmarks Tutorial

Vinyl DIY Bookmark Tutorial
Vinyl DIY Bookmark Tutorial

Today I have a super fun blog post ready for you. I made two super adorable bookmarks with vinyl.

To make these I used the “Groovy Retro Flowers” and the “Happy Pencil” SVG Files.

Let me show you how I made the first bookmark.

02 Vinyl DIY Bookmark Tutorial

I started out by creating a bookmark template. Measure a real life bookmark and try to mimic it as much as you can – a basic rectangle about 5”L x 2”W (12cm x 5cm) will work if you want to cut your own base from cardstock or chipboard.

Next, make a pattern with the elements you want to use (here 2 flowers from the “Groovy Retro Flowers” SVG Files).

Vinyl DIY Bookmark Tutorial

With the ‘slice’ tool from Cricut Design Space, you can cut a shape from another shape. Using the slice tool will split two overlapping images in different parts. Each new shape will appear as an individual layer. Now you can delete the unwanted images. I used “slice” to trim the edges of the daisies that extended past the edges of the bookmark template.

For my first bookmark, I used a clear acrylic bookmark. For that reason I cut out all images out of vinyl. I used the layout that I created in Cricut Design Space as a reference to place all the flowers while finishing the bookmark.

I finished it off with a tassel and wooden bead. This is really so cute!!

Of course I also wanted to show a second example…

Vinyl DIY Bookmark Tutorial

For this bookmark, I used the ‘combine’ tool from Cricut Design Space. This allows you to create new shapes. I used the ‘Unite’ button to merge the two yellow parts of the pencil shapes to make one larger pencil (little note; the layers may change position). Next I united the eyes with the yellow layers so that it became one image. As the last step I added my name.

Because I had a wooden bookmark for my second example, I used heat transfer vinyl. Heat Transfer Vinyl sticks much better to wood and provides a professional look,

These happy colors really make my heart jump up and down. It’s great as a teacher gift or simply for your own use.

Another Shaped Bee Card

Another Shaped Bee Card

Hello, friends! It’s Nancy here with a fun new project!

Sadly, this will be my final post as a Design Team member.
I’ve made the tough decision to step down from the team.
I’d like to thank Kristin, and the rest of the DT, for all the fun!

It’s been a fabulous year!

For my final project, I have created another shaped bee card.
If you missed my tutorial on how I make the shaped card base,
you can find it HERE.

Again, I have used:

Honey Bee SVG Collection

Here’s my card:

Another Shaped Bee Card

I began by making my shaped card base.

I then used the same shape to size another layer slightly smaller.

I then combined one of the papers from the collection with the shape.

This gave me the printed layer for the background.

Shaped card cardmaking idea

The wreath element is so pretty!

I used the “print then cut” for that element. I inked all the edges and adhered it in place.

I curled the leaves and wings up, then added some glitter glue for some sparkle.

Although this is a flat piece, it has lots of dimension.

Here is the inside of the card:

I simply used the “print then cut” option with another fun element,

and adhered it in place.

Another Shaped Bee Card

This is such a fun collection to play with!

It includes a wonderful variety of papers and elements.

The creative possibilities are endless! :o)
