St. Patrick’s Day Scrapbook Layout

St-Patricks-Day-Scrapbook-Layout-Inspiration

Hey Crafters! Shalon here with a fun St. Paddy’s Day scrapbook layout! These pictures of my daughter are actually from a few years ago (scrapbooking time is rare with little ones in the house!) But I actually enjoyed reminiscing while I created this layout!

This St. Patrick’s Day layout used a combination of Design Elements and Digital Paper. Using my Epson WF-7610 (wide format) printer, I printed out the Shamrocks ‘N’ Clovers St. Patrick’s Day Seamless Pattern Free Digital Paper to use as the background pattern for this page.

I used the Cute Pot of Gold SVG, Leprechaun Hat SVG, Cute Clovers Free SVG, and Irish Hearts Free SVGs as print & cut files, which made excellent pieces of die-cut ephemera.

To create the title, I hand-pieced Free St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Banner, with the help of a little craft foam, it popped off the page. The gold baker’s twine along the top completed the look.

I added Glossy Accents dimensional glaze, some orange zig-zag stitching around the edges, and a few golden splatters of Miner, Miner 49er by Shimmerz Paints to finished off this lucky layout.

I hope you enjoyed this bit of scrapbook inspiration, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

DIY Tic Tac Toe Bag Valentine Gift with Free SVG File

Valentine Tic Tac Toe Bag Free SVG file

Valentine Tic Tac Toe Bag Free SVG file

Valentine’s Day Tic Tac Toe Bag Game with Free SVG File!

My 6 year old has been crazy about Tic Tac Toe lately. She draws tic tac toe boards on every square inch of paper she can find and challenges anyone who will play with her to a game (she’s gotten pretty good at it too!). So as a Valentine’s Day gift, I’m making her this cute Valentine’s Tic Tac Toe bag that has been pretty popular in several online crafting groups.

Of course, I had to sweeten it up a bit for Valentine’s Day, so I made the tic tac toe board from little hearts instead of plain lines. Read on to find out how to make your own Valentine Tic Tac Toe game!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

First, open the Tic Tac Toe SVG cut file in your cutting software. Resize the board to fit your drawstring bag with at least 1/8” space around the edge of the bag. My bag is 3” x 5” with an area of 3” x 3 1/4” of usable space beneath the drawstring stitching, so I sized my tic tac toe board to 2.75” wide and it fit perfectly. Cut your board from HTV and weed. Make sure to keep proportions LOCKED when resizing.

Press the tic tac toe board to your muslin bag according to the instructions for your press, and type of HTV your are using. I used Siser EasyWeed and my Cricut Easy Press at 340 degrees for 30 seconds (with an additional 15 seconds on the back).

Now you’re ready to add X’s and O’s to your game pieces. If you’re short on time (or adhesive vinyl), you could even skip this step as long as you have game pieces that are different colors (another reason why I love these adorable red and pink plastic hearts!)

In your cutting software, resize the X’s and O’s to fit your game pieces. My plastic scatter hearts are about 0.75” so I made the X’s 0.5” tall and the O’s 0.5” tall. Make sure to keep proportions LOCKED when resizing. You will need 5 X’s and 5 O’s for a single tic tac toe game.

Tip: Use a weeding box around your design to save vinyl and make weeding easier!

Cut your X’s and O’s from adhesive vinyl (651), weed and apply transfer tape. (I made sure these O’s are a breeze to weed!)

Now you can just stick the X’s and O’s on your game pieces. Give a quick burnish with your fingernail and peel the transfer tape.

That’s it! Tuck your game pieces into the muslin pouch and cinch the strings closed. Your Valentine’s Day Tic Tac Toe game is ready for it’s first eager players! This little game came together way faster than I expected, so I went ahead and made one for my niece too!

DIY Crayon Holder Valentine SVG

Fast & Easy DIY Valentine Crayon Holders for the Whole Class!

Looking for a fun and unique Valentine for your child to hand out to their classmates? These Valentine Bookmark Crayon Holder SVG files cut super fast and are so easy to put together! And the best part is, after kids have finished coloring in the fun Valentine’s designs, the card becomes a bookmark they can use to hold their place in a favorite book! I made these last year with my daughter for her Kindergarten class and they were a hit!

You can download the Valentine Bookmark Crayon Holder SVG Files right here in my shop, but first, read on to see how easy they are to make!

The SVGs open up with cut lines already turned on in Silhouette Studio Designer Edition. Just position 2 on a page, turn on registration marks, and hit Send! With just a few simple steps (instructions included with download), Silhouette Basic Edition, and Cricut Design Space users will also be ready to go!

Important: In Silhouette Studio, once your Print & Cut layout is ready to print, DO NOT move or change any elements in the file! I always make sure to save the file right before I print it, and don’t make any changes to the layout once it has been printed.

A single sheet of letter size cardstock fits 2 crayon holder cards. When printed, only the coloring page image and text will be visible. The cut lines for the card will not print, but don’t worry, your cutting machine will know where to cut! 🙂

Have your little one fill in their friend’s names and then fold along score lines, to fold card in half and raise the crayon holder holes.

Now insert crayons into the crayon slots. The crayons slide in pretty easily (pointed tip first) and hold in place well. This was easy enough that even my 5 year old was able to help!

I found this 24 pack of Crayola 4-ct. Crayon Boxes on Amazon, which I love because each child gets 4 different colors to use, and it comes with enough to make coloring page Valentines for the whole class!

Once assembled, just tuck into some A1 size envelopes (approx. 3.5″ x 5″) and your little one is ready to hand out Valentines to their classmates!

The kids then get to have some fun coloring in the coloring page design! When they’re finished, they can tear along the center perforation, and it becomes a bookmark!

You could even wrap the card in ribbon or baker’s twine (optional) before placing in the envelope, so the child can tie it to their bookmark when they’re all done coloring!
